The zoo was AWESOME! Good news about the weather was that it didn't rain. The bad news is that it was really, really hot and I wish it did rain! People were with other people, lugging around a camera for each group. I was partnered with Elizabeth, a deaf girl. Now, you're probably wondering how I communicated with her. She reads lips. She's really nice and friendly. In fact, I don't think I would've liked being paired up with anyone else besides her. We got pictures of lots of animals, and not just our assigned ones.
This is Elizabeth with me sitting next to her on the bus. I guess I was tuning out all the noise.
We looked at the water animals first because they were right in front of the entrance and my polar bear was sure to be in there somewhere. There were seals, sharks(little ones), seahorses, fish of all kinds, penguins, and jellyfish which were really neat to watch float around. Even though all of these animals were behind glass, I got some good pictures. The jellyfish pictures are cool. After looking around and petting a couple of sharks, I still didn't see any polar bears. Then after leaving the penguin area, I saw her(the zoo guy said it was a she). A single polar bear swimming around and around. The zoo guy also said that she was the oldest living polar bear in captivity! I got a couple of pictures of her inside behind the glass and then we went outside to see if she would come up out of the water. She never did. Plus, she was the ONLY polar bear there, so I only got pictures of her swimming around because that's all she did the whole time we were there!
This is all I pretty much got. Not good.
Here's a Jellyfish.
The Awesome Meerkats we saw.
This snake was HUGE! It looked like it had just eaten 4 or more mice!
These sharks you could pet. They were smooth to me, but Elizabeth said that it felt rough.
Here's the snake with the dead mouse. (Yummy)
That's a seal. They were even cuter out of the water.
These Rinos wouldn't move. How lazy......Maybe they were asleep??
When I find the time, I'll post more pictures.
P.S. We got McDonalds!!! Woo! (I had to pay for my own though.)

That giant snake makes me want to purge!
And I love the jellyfish photo!
Aw Man, S-Hooks, I loved the giant snake picture!! it reminded me of my old red tailed boa named Marley.
Did any of you ever see him? I had him when Michael and I first moved into the apartment. He ended up getting mena, but I'm pretty sure Michael had something to do with that.......go figure
Looks like a great time at the zoo! I'm glad you had fun w/your freind Elizabeth. Did you guy hang out much before you were paired up at the zoo?
Too bad the Polar Bear wouldn't cooperate. The jellyfish pic is way cool and so are the meerkats. The creap me out a little! That snake is just flippin gross! :) (sorry AlliGal)
All the snakes were awesome! There was a case with a snake in it and it's dead mouse ready for eatin'!
=D
Yeah, those jellyfish were cool and it seemed like EVERYONE wanted a picture of them. I was lucky to snap a few.
We do stuff together in class, but no where else. So...yeah. We did some stuff before we had gone to the zoo.
That pesky polar bear! Around and around she goes, she will never stop, that's all I knows!
Alli-gal, I remember your creapy snake!
Great photos!
Most of that credit goes to Elizabeth. I only took the first 2.
Oh yeah....
